In celebration of the launch of our first ever live CD/DVD we want to give you the chance to win everything we've ever released. So we're hosting a competition for all myspace and facebook users.
The winner will walk away with all this:
(1) a signed copy of the new CD/DVD "A Thought In Your Head: The Quills Live In Concert";
(2) a choice of one of the brand new T-shirt designs coinciding with the DVD launch (to be revealed soon);
(3) a copy of the debut EP "Some New Place";
(4) a choice of one of the existing T-shirt designs
(5) a copy of the first ever release by The Quills, the single "Foresight" which is no longer in production and extremely limited; and
(6) a copy of the DVD launch poster
10 runners up will also receive a signed copy of the new CD/DVD and a copy of the poster.

new songs previewing this saturday
Beginning this Saturday 22 November at 10am we will be previewing tracks from our forthcoming live CD/DVD, "A Thought In Your Head: The Quills Live In Concert".
A new track will be posted on our myspace page every second day leading up to the launch on Saturday 6 December. But each track will replace the other so make sure you keep coming back to hear a new song every two days. Video footage from the DVD will also be previewed along with the songs.

live cd/dvd launch
Brisbane alternative pop outfit The Quills will launch their first live record next month off the back of their recent spring tour of South East Queensland.
“A Thought In Your Head: The Quills Live In Concert” showcases songs from their debut EP “Some New Place” as well as new material being heard for the first time. Recorded live at The Zoo, Brisbane, the two disc CD/DVD offers fans and newcomers alike an exciting taste of the band’s eclectic live performance.
“Before we head into the studio next year to record our first full length record we wanted to give our audience an insight into our latest sound,” reflects singer/guitarist Dave Butler. “This show is a good representation of where we’re at as a band.”
A lineup change early in the year saw The Quills further develop their unique sound that encompasses shimmering choruses, earnest lyrics and catchy hooks. This release sees the band in a light beyond their intelligent pop writing and exposes the grandiose nature of their live show.
The Quills launch “A Thought In Your Head: The Quills Live In Concert” at The Globe, Fortitude Valley on Saturday 6 December.

the lineup has just been announced and the quills are returning to play the woodford folk festival in 2008. this year they're playing four shows!! here are the dates:

1 january - the bazaar - 12.30pm

new merch is on the way so the quills are holding a massive merch sale to clear out old stock and make way for the new. all merch including current t-shirt designs and the 'some new place' ep will be discounted and available for purchase at all of the shows on the 'a thought in your head tour'. tour posters will also be available for the first time.
